Enjoy the Holidays!

A Note From the Chair of the Search Committee

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce that Christine Vinion has been selected as the next Fiscal Officer of NEO-RLS. Christine holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Youngstown State and brings with her a wealth of experience from twelve years in both the public and private finance sectors, most recently as the Fiscal Officer of McKinley Memorial Library.

Along with her financial expertise, Christine has also been an avid user and supporter of NEO-RLS services. The Search Committee particularly noted Christine’s passion and desire to use her knowledge and skills to help libraries of all types grow in serving their communities. In addition to her finance experience, she also holds a degree in interior merchandising, and outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, “(although one is a teenager, so it's sometimes less enjoyable,)” and two dogs.

Christine will be officially appointed and begin as Fiscal Officer at the January 17, 2023 Board meeting. Please join me in welcoming Christine to the NEO-RLS team!

The 2022 Ohio Summer Library Program report is now available!

Ohio public libraries and their communities embraced summer programming with renewed enthusiasm in 2022. Easing of pandemic restrictions and a fun, inspiring theme made summer more joyful and exciting for many. Summer library program (SLP) participation has been trending upward statewide, and overall program and event attendance rose significantly from 2021. Library staff and patrons alike deeply appreciated the widespread return to in-person indoor programming. Notably, many librarians reported a welcome sense of getting “back to normal.”
