Teen Summer Reading

A Note From the Continuing Education Coordinator

Did you know that NEO-RLS offers fourteen unique Circulating Technology Kits? These kits provide a wealth of programming opportunities to better serve your communities, whether you are providing education about health literacy, teaching children how to code, or sharing the wonders of virtual reality with your patrons.

Our VR Console Kit has everything you need to create an immersive virtual reality experience. We provide a PlayStation 4 console, VR headset, a situational camera, processor, two types of controllers, and even a small HD television in case your library does not have access to one.

Perhaps you’d like to host a podcasting basics class for your patrons, or maybe even start your very own library podcast. The Podcast Kit comes with the accessories you need to successfully record or stream video and audio, from wireless lavalier microphones to an HD webcam and mobile lighting.

Or maybe you simply need more devices to successfully host a technology program for a small group. The Tablet Kit offers ten fully functional iPad tablets so you can provide one to all program attendees, ensuring a smooth experience for everyone.

These are just a few examples of the many ways you can maximize your ability to provide materials for your customers by borrowing NEO-RLS’s Circulating Technology Kits. These kits are available to all of our Geographic Members, and our Gold, Silver, and Bronze members receive a special discount on kit reservation fees. You can learn more about the kits and place reservations here or email me at jeff.laser@neo-rls.org for further information and reservation assistance.

Have a great day!
Jeff

The ConnectedLib team is planning the first ever ConnectedLibFEST, focused on connected learning in small and rural libraries and communities.

The virtual experience is scheduled for March 15 and 16 and will bring together library staff, researchers, and community members to learn from and with each other.
For a project with No Kid Hungry, Jane Ingraham Dwyer is looking for examples of public libraries that actively promote the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and/or actively assist patrons to apply for SNAP benefits.
