A Note From the Continuing Education Coordinator

I’d like to highlight a useful resource for those of you delving into specific continuing education topics from our archived webinars library. Archived Webinar Bundles are curated collections of past webinars, including subjects such as Self-Care and Inclusive Customer Service. We are continuously updating these bundles and adding new collections. In fact, we just added two new bundles: DEIA and Facilities. To get started, visit our Archived Webinar Bundles webpage and click the topic that interests you. You’ll be taken directly to descriptions and registration links for each webinar. If you have a request for a new bundle, please email me at
Have a great day!

More Than a Website

Your Library's Digital Branch Today and Into the Future
Thursday, December 8th at 10 am

More than ever, patrons are engaging with their library online. With that being said, in what ways is a library digital branch more than just a website? More importantly, how can we build our digital branches to best serve current and future users?
Learning outcomes:
  • Participants will understand the evolution of library digital presences, from early websites to current offerings.
  • Participants will discover the key components of a library digital branch.
  • Participants will learn how to improve the accessibility of a digital branch.
  • Participants will understand future trends likely to impact their library's digital branch.
Presenter: Nick Tanzi is a nationally recognized library technology consultant, and author of the books Making the Most of Digital Collections Through Training and Outreach (2016) and Best Technologies for Public Libraries: Policies, Programs, and Services (2020).

Here is What Happened in October

From the State Library of Ohio

From the State Librarian
We were contacted by the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI) to help expand access to materials and assistive technologies that can provide support to children and caregivers who may benefit from these resources. We are in the very beginning stages of this partnership and would like to gauge possible interest by libraries that may wish to explore this in more depth.
Ohio is one of six states piloting the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant-funded initiative Building Equity Based Summers Through Libraries & Communities (BEBS).

Public libraries nationwide offer summer programs and services for learning and leisure. These programs aim to engage youth and adults meaningfully throughout the summer months.

As a friendly reminder if you have not had a chance to provide your feedback regarding your experience with the Ohio Secretary of State’s Outreach In A Box initiative, please do so by Friday, November 4, 2022, by 3:00 p.m. You may access the survey from this link
