ATTN: Directors and Assistant/Deputy Directors

A Note From the Executive Director

I thought today might be a good time to let you know that our Board Committees and Advisory Groups have been hard at work since July 1, 2021 and have managed to accomplish a wide variety of projects. The Awards Committee coordinated the Awards at the Membership Meeting last November and provided the winners’ libraries with a press release and Board resolution in acknowledgement of their achievement.  The Bylaws/Policy Committee modified the Bylaws, with membership approval, to add a Zone 1 for our largest libraries.  In addition, the Policy Manual was revised.  The DEIA Strategies Committee approved their charge, reviewed and revised DEIA goals, objectives, and actions items for the 2022-2025 Strategic Plan, and put together resources pages for our website which go live this fall.  Committee members also consulted on the DEIA training which will be provided for all Committee and Advisory Group members, Board Trustees and NEO-RLS staff.  The Finance Committee examined dues and fees and provided input into every aspect of our financial situation in order to keep us in the black.  The Personnel Committee is in the process of a full revision of our Employee Handbook, making significant changes in the area of procedures around telecommuting. The Marketing/PR Advisory Group continued to review the website and newsletter for enhancements and reviewed our new Marketing Plan for approval.  The Technology Advisory Group weighed in on planned changes to our technology kits, the potential of our upcoming Technology Conference in October and our adherence to our Technology Plan goals, objectives and action items.  And, last but not least, our Special Libraries Advisory Group has taken steps to provide us with up-to-date contacts for the special libraries in our region, held two Network Group meetings and provided input into CE topics of relevance.   Together we are maximizing library potential.  Have a great week!
