Presenting Online

A Note from the Executive Director

We are so happy to have had our Network Groups remain active and successful during the pandemic via Zoom.  Thank you to those of you that participated and those of you that facilitated Network meetings.  We are also always excited to start new Network Groups based on member interest and need.  Our newest Network Group is an outgrowth of the work of our Standing Board Committee for Multi-type Libraries.  The Multi-type Libraries Network Group will meet for the first time on Wednesday, June 23rd from 2:00-3:30 via Zoom and will focus on Collaboration.  The meeting will kick off with speakers talking about their partnerships with other libraries and other types of libraries.  Initiatives have included the Cleveland Law Library partnering with CLEVNET and with Cleveland Public Library, the Stark and Tuscarawas County Law Libraries collaborating with each on marketing their resources, and projects from the New York Public Library with a variety of collaborators.  Presentations will be followed by roundtable discussion about the issues confronting those working in archives, academic, special and school libraries.  Everyone is welcome and NEO-RLS Network Groups are free.  Register today!  We look forward to seeing you there and to the beginning of a rewarding new opportunity for the libraries in our region.  Together we are maximizing library potential.  Have a wonderful week!

Here is What Happened in April

From the State Library

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 designates $200 million in pandemic response funding for the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The $200 million investment will provide critical funding to State Library Administrative Agencies (SLAAs), located in every U.S. state and territory, with reach into local communities across the country. In Ohio, the State Library of Ohio will receive $4,547,789 in one-time federal ARPA funds through the IMLS Grants to States program. Once disbursed, the funds will need to be utilized by June 30, 2022.

This is a reminder that applications are now being accepted for public libraries to host a Guiding Ohio Online Technology Trainer.
The State Library’s Guiding Ohio Online  program, supported by
federal LSTA funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, targets public libraries in Ohio that serve rural populations, in order to help Ohioans develop digital skills needed to fully participate in the digital age.

The Collaborative Summer Library Program is happy to announce that the 2021 Tails & Tales PSA for public libraries is available in English and Spanish:
Full PSA English
Full PSA Spanish
If you want to add your own logo or text, editable PSA files can be found on the CSLP website "Additional Program Tools" tab, under the Manual Downloads dropdown. Here is the direct link.
