Lorain Public Library System offers Early Literacy Backpacks

The Lorain Public Library System again has expanded the list of nontraditional items in its Library of Things with the addition of Early Literacy Backpacks. Each backpack includes two activities from an increasing level of Hooked on Phonics.

“The Early Literacy Backpacks are tools for caregivers and teachers to help boost children’s reading skills,” said Avon Branch Manager Donna Kelly-Sprinkle in a press release. “Based on the science of reading, Lorain Public Library System children’s librarians created them for four different levels of reader which include engaging phonics, learning materials and fun and reinforcing games and activities.”
