NEO-RLS Announcements

Awards Deadline September 30th
Do you deserve an award?  Do you know someone who does?  Along with the Rising Star Award which honors a library employee with no more than five years’ experience, we now have the NEW Shooting Star Award to honor library employees who have been working in the field with more than 10 years’ of experience and the NEW Advocacy Award for those who have supported the libraries of our region through their advocacy.  The first two award recipients will be selected by our new State Librarian and presented at the annual NEO-RLS Membership Meeting.  The Advocacy Award recipient(s) will be selected by the NEO-RLS Awards Committee and presented at the Membership Meeting.  If you know someone who has had a positive impact on your library and community, please consider nominating them!  The deadline for all three awards is now September 30^th and all of the information you need is on our website under Awards.  Honor the stars and advocates in our region by nominating someone today!


Volunteers needed for the NEO-RLS Technology and Multi-type Libraries Committees
Thanks to those of you who have volunteered to serve on a NEO-RLS Board Committee.  We are still looking for a few more volunteers to serve on the Technology or Multi-type Libraries Committee.  Each Committee will meet virtually two times in the next 12 months.  The Technology Committee will work on putting together a Technology Strategic Plan for NEO-RLS and the Multi-type Libraries Committee will work on a plan to create collaborative programming that serves ALL of our libraries.  If you are interested, please contact betsy.lantz@neo-rls by August 15^th with questions or to receive additional information.  Thank you!
