Still Time for Academic, Public, Special and School Librarians to Apply for Library Leadership Ohio
Whatever your career goals – from library director to library advocate in your community, Library Leadership Ohio will allow you to define and inspire your leadership skills and potential.
The State Library of Ohio and OhioNET are again collaborating to bring you the 2018 Library Leadership Ohio Institute. Recognizing the ongoing challenges faced by all Ohio libraries, we believe that developing the next generation of transformative library leaders is vital to ensure the continued depth, growth, and quality of library services for all. LLO is an opportunity to develop future leaders for Ohio libraries, and to help Ohio library staff become leaders in the communities they serve.
LLO 2018 will be held at the Quest Conference Center and Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Columbus, Ohio, beginning the evening of July 17, 2018 and concluding at noon July 20. Tuition for LLO 2018 is $500. The event will once again be facilitated by Ivy Library from Charlottesville, VA, along with special guest speakers, both from inside and outside of the library profession.
Ivy Library has over 20 years of experience with academic, public, school and special libraries.
LLO 2018 targets both support and professional library employees working in public, school, special, and academic libraries and all are eligible to apply. The selection committee is seeking applications from individuals that demonstrate the following:
- Outstanding leadership potential
- Excellent communication skills
- Successful library employment experience
- Initiative, commitment and reasonable risk taking
- Forward-thinking approach to problem solving
- A commitment to the profession
If these phrases are often used to describe you, or if these are areas you would like to develop further, then LLO 2018 offers a venue, a curriculum, and a network of colleagues to grow your strengths and skills to become an Ohio Library Leader.
32 individuals will be selected to attend LLO 2018. More information about the selection process and the online application are available at:
